With 500 million of fresh money being pumped into the league, no matter how tough the week and decisions, this is a big win for the league and the owners. Factor in the value raised for markets like FLA and what Ledecky and Malkin paid for the third NY Franchise last year. I'm sure we will see another expansion franchise in the near future. |

Jeez that sucks for you guys! You find a good player and Vegas grabs him! on the bright side tho it goes to show the depth the Panthers are getting in their organization! Best of luck! |

Bjugstad is oft injured, a big kid who plays soft, and IS as soft as a roll of Charmin. Marchessault has the heart of a lion. Tampa fans were pissed when they lost him, plays with a chip on his shoulders because he was not drafted. One of the only reasons to watch a Panthers game last year, as he scored 30 on a crap team lead by a human potato head behind the bench after a division winning coach was let go for only being one game up at the beginning of the season. Yup, that musta been a hard decision...Dopeyist F'ing blog I've ever read GTFO. |

I'm just going to say, without mincing words, that the team made the absolute wrong decision. |

Essentially the franchises betted AGAINST its best player. Who the F does this?? You told the kid "Oh, you won't do that again, fluke"...unless they have a side deal with Vegas this is ridiculous. And from the way JM is commenting today, sounds like they don't. |

Ya know, I'm not really upset because they're losing JM so much as I am this was their chance to rid themselves of either the Smith or Demers contract. That's what they should have done and they not only blew it, but they're tossing their shot at a legitimate goal scorer out the window. |

Let's wait and see who they pick. With all this talk of side deals you never know |

I honestly believe the Knights will have a better roster than the panthers once we find out tomorrow night. It's a joke Bjugstad was protected, this kid sucks. The fact that he was saved over March just goes to show you all what a joke this organization continues to be. |

This is how bad the Panthers Organization has been:
24 year history started in 1993
Only 5 playoff appearances, advanced past the first round in only one (1996)
Longest playoff drought 2000-2011
15 head coaches
10 general managers
multiple ownership
2 locations (Miami and Sunrise)
26 first round picks (14 of those in the top 10)
out of all of those picks:
0 franchise players, 0 point per game players
The 3 guys below were the only players to play in a playoff game:
1993: Rob Niedermayer (5th overall)
1994: Ed Jovanovski (1st overall)
1995: Radek Dvorak (10th overall)
It took this organization over 2 decades to "build" first round picks to play in a playoff game:
Gudbranson/Barkov/Huberdeau/Ekblad/Kulkov
The most points ever scored by a Panthers player was Bure with 94 points in the 99-00 season. With all of those first round picks, with 7 first round picks since 2001 being in the top 4 picks of the draft they have failed to draft a guy worth calling a franchise player.
It is clear this organization STILL does not have a clue how to build a hockey team. With their highest season point total at 103 two years ago they blow up the defense and go right back in the cellar. They fire a coach that should have been the guy here for years to come. History always repeats itself. This team is clearly not patient when it comes to systems, ownership, coaching and the GM. Those are the most important things to have stability in. This is a mickey mouse organization that should just admit they have failed for over 2 decades and just move them or sell them to a group of hockey minds that know what they are doing. Firing Gallant was it for me. Showed me how right ive been for all these years. Ive been bashing ownership this entire time in hopes they will prove me wrong. They continue to make the same mistakes and it's sad to keep watching this go round and round only to end up with the same result. It's insanity and I feel bad for those ppl who spend their money on season tickets for a team that will never build a winner. It will never happen. Vegas will be a playoff team and the Panthers will be home golfing like usual.

This was a salary dump. Tallon is in full rebuild mode again. Why would you allow 2 top 6 forwards to just walk away for a 4th round pick? Are we joking here? What purpose does this entire situation present? Don't count on them getting anything back in all of this. It's sad but this team will be in the bottom 5 next season. |

Guess we'll know in a few days. Something tells me Tallon has something up his sleeve. |
